Competition Coodinator Information

Assigning a Coordinator

Each VBMA chapter should assign one competition coordinator. When a competition coordinator has been assigned, it is the coordinators responsibility to provide Nicole Numbers at VPI with the following information, by e-mail or phone (714.989.0555 x 5711) no later than Wednesday, February 4th, 2009:

  • Name
  • College
  • E-mail address
  • Phone number
  • Physical mailing address

The assigned competition coordinator will receive an e-mail with a PDF of the Competition Rules and Instructions and detailed Competition Coordinator Instructions.

A Competition Coordinator Packet will be mailed UPS ground to each coordinator. The packet will include a hard copy of the Competition Rules and Instructions, Competition Coordinator Instructions and VPI education kit.

Please note: The VPI education kit provided to the competition coordinators is fully equipped with all materials needed to assist participants in processing a claim. The VPI education kit includes a booklet of Case Histories (providing multiple examples of how to process a claim in addition to the example provided in the VPI-VBMA Competition Packet and a Reference Guide.

Responsibilities

  1. Announce VPI-VBMA Veterinary Student Case Study Competition to all veterinary students on your campus by Monday, February 9th, 2009.
  2. Schedule an orientation meeting for interested students to discuss the competition details and guide them through the process.
    Please note: Competition coordinators will receive instructions on planning a meeting.
  3. E-mail all veterinary students on campus the VPI-VBMA Competition Packet provided by VPI. The packet includes the following:
    Introduction
    Competition Rules
    General Competition Instructions
    VPI Policy
    VPI Superior Benefit Schedule
    Student Testimonials
    Faculty Testimonials
  4. All VBMA members (including competition coordinators, chapter officers and national officers) are encouraged to participate.
  5. Remind students every 2 weeks when competition submissions are due.
  6. Collect hard copy entries from participating students and place them in one envelope (all entries must be sent together). The envelope with all the entries must be post marked and mailed by Saturday, March 21st, 2009.

Entry Rules

  • Each chapter must submit a minimum of 3 unique entries to participate and be eligible for sponsorship funds.
  • Each participant should use a different invoice for his/her entry. If a student has trouble obtaining an invoice, please encourage students that have easier access to obtain extra invoices.
  • A fund disbursement outline will be provided in the Competition Coordinator Packet.
